Connecting via Bluetooth (wireless)
Here’s how to connect the piano to an app on your mobile device via Bluetooth. You don’t need to make any settings on the piano.
- When connecting to the “Piano Sphere” app, we recommend using a wired USB connection for more stable audio playback (Connecting via USB cable (wired)).
- This shows the steps for using the “Roland Piano App” app with an iOS device as an example.
How to connect
- Turn on the Bluetooth function of the mobile device.
NOTE
If the name of the device you’re using (such as “FP-40 MIDI”) is shown in the “Devices” field, do not tap it. If you accidentally tap the name, see “If you can’t connect via Bluetooth”.
- Launch the app on your mobile device.
- Tap “Connection by Bluetooth” in the app.
- Tap “Find a digital piano” and select “FP-40 MIDI”.
- If “Bluetooth Pairing Request” appears, tap “Pair”.
- If you’re using an Android product and “FP-40 MIDI” does not show up in the list of devices on the app, check whether location data has been turned on in the app and on the mobile device.
- Mobile devices that you have already paired once with the app are automatically reconnected when the app is launched. The connection may take several seconds.
Connection complete
The following indications are used to show when pairing is completed.
- App: “Connected!”
- Piano: the Bluetooth indicator (Ġ) lights up
