Connecting the BOSS TONE STUDIO Android app to the GX-10 unit
- Turn on the GX-10 and your mobile device.
- Place the mobile device that you want to connect nearby the GX-10.
- In your mobile device’s settings, turn Bluetooth on.
NOTE
Even if the “Available devices” list shows “GX-10”, don’t tap it.
- Launch the “BOSS TONE STUDIO for GX-10” app that you installed on your mobile device.
- The “Terms of Use” screen is shown.
- This screen only appears when the app launches for the first time.
- Click “ACCEPT” to agree to the contents after you’ve read them.
- Tap [Bluetooth MIDI DEVICE] that appears in the screen, and then tap “GX-10”.
- The display shows “GX-10 MIDI” (1–9).
- Verify that “*” is shown at the upper right of the number.
- If “GX-10” is not shown, tap “SCAN” at the very bottom of the Bluetooth Devices screen, and search again.
- Tap the Android back button to return to the previous screen.
- Verify that “GX-10 MIDI 1” is shown for “CONNECT”.
- Tap [OK] to start communication.
If you can’t connect

Can’t connect to Bluetooth audio | If the “GX-10” is shown in the Bluetooth device list on your mobile device | Temporarily deregister (unpair) the device in the mobile device’s Bluetooth settings. Turn Bluetooth off and then on, and try pairing again. |
If “GX-10” is not shown in the Bluetooth device list of your mobile device | Turn the mobile device’s Bluetooth function off and then on again, and initiate pairing from the GX-10 to re-establish pairing. | |
Can’t connect to the app | After unpairing the “GX-10 MIDI” that is registered on the mobile device, turn the mobile device’s Bluetooth function off and then on again, and reconnect it from within the app’s (BOSS TONE STUDIO for GX-10) settings. | |
In your mobile device’s Bluetooth setting screen, you tap “GX-10 MIDI” but can’t connect to the app | Make the connection from the settings of the app (BOSS TONE STUDIO for GX-10), not from your mobile device’s Bluetooth settings. | |
You pressed the BT-DUAL’s pairing button, but can’t connect to the app | You cannot connect simply by press the pairing button on the BT-DUAL. In the Bluetooth settings of your mobile device, turn the Bluetooth function on, and then connect from the settings of the app (BOSS TONE STUDIO for GX-10). | |
Can’t connect to a paired mobile device | If the connection fails immediately after it is established, temporarily turning the mobile device’s Bluetooth switch off and then on again may fix the connection. |
