Backing up data

You can save (backup) the tones, patterns and system settings stored on the JUPITER-08 to your computer.

This backup data can then be restored to the JUPITER-08 at a later date.

 

  1. Connect your computer to the JUPITER-08 with a USB cable.

  2. NOTE

    Do not use a USB cable that is designed only for charging. Charge-only cables cannot transmit data.

  3. While holding down the [MENU] button, turn on the power.
  5. The JUPITER-08 operates in USB mass storage mode. The JUPITER-08 is recognized by your computer as an external storage device. It takes around 20 seconds for the connection to be recognized.
  6. Open the “JUPITER-08” on your computer.
  7. The “BACKUP” folder is shown in the JUPITER-08.
  8. Open the “BACKUP” folder.
  9. The backup file appears.
  10. Copy (drag and drop) the backup file to your computer.
  11. Disconnect the JUPITER-08 from your computer.
    1. If you’re using Windows, click the USB icon () and then click “Eject Boutique”.
    2. If you’re using macOS, drag the JUPITER-08 icon to the trash.
  13. Turn off the JUPITER-08.
