PN-2

The PN-2 is an effect unit that creates panning effects (moving the sound across the stereo field) and tremolo effects (making cyclic changes to the volume). This lets you output mono instruments in stereo by applying a panning effect. You can also add panning and tremolo effects to instruments with stereo outputs.

Parameter

Value

Explanation

1

RATE

0–100, BPM

Adjusts the cycle (rate).

PAN: Adjusts the cycle used to pan the output sound left/right.

TREMOLO: Adjusts the cycle according to the dynamics of the output level.

  • When this is set to “BPM”, you can check the tempo by watching the CHECK indicator blink, or by checking the BPM parameter.

DEPTH

0–100

Adjusts the amount of motion (change).

PAN: Adjusts the amount of motion used when panning the output sound left/right.

TREMOLO: Adjusts the amount of change for the output level.

MODE

PAN SIN, PAN SQR, TRMOLO SIN, TREMOLO SQR

Sets the mode.

You can combine the sine wave and square wave of PAN/TREMOLO for a total of four modes.

PAN: The center of the sound (pan position) moves from left to right when the sound is output in stereo.

TREMOLO: The output level changes cyclically.

Sine wave: The output sound moves (changes) smoothly.

Square wave: The output sound moves (changes) abruptly.

2

BPM

40–250

Adjusts the tempo if “BPM” is selected for RATE.

  • This is only shown when RATE is set to “BPM”.

3

CTL1 TARGET

OFF, RATE, DEPTH, MODE, TAP

Selects the parameter to control from a footswitch connected to CTL1.

  • Tap operations are disabled when there is an external MIDI input.

CTL1 MODE

MOMENT, TOGGLE

Selects the operation mode for the footswitch that’s connected to CTL1.

  • This is not shown when CTL1 TARGET is set to “TAP”.

CTL1 VALUE

0–100, PAN SIN, PAN SQR, TRMOLO SIN, TREMOLO SQR

Sets the value for the parameter that’s controlled from a footswitch connected to CTL1.

  • This is not shown when CTL1 TARGET is set to “TAP”.

4

CTL2 TARGET

OFF, RATE, DEPTH, MODE, TAP

Selects the parameter to control from a footswitch connected to CTL2.

  • Tap operations are disabled when there is an external MIDI input.

CTL2 MODE

MOMENT, TOGGLE

Selects the operation mode for the footswitch connected to CTL2.

  • This is not shown when CTL2 TARGET is set to “TAP”.

CTL2 VALUE

0–100, PAN SIN, PAN SQR, TRMOLO SIN, TREMOLO SQR

Selects the value for the parameter that’s controlled from a footswitch connected to CTL2.

  • This is not shown when CTL2 TARGET is set to “TAP”.

5

EXP TARGET

OFF, RATE, DEPTH, BPM

Sets the parameter controlled by an expression pedal connected to EXP.

EXP MIN

0–100, 40–250

Sets the minimum value for the parameter controlled by an expression pedal connected to EXP.

EXP MAX

0–100, 40–250

Sets the maximum value for the parameter controlled by an expression pedal connected to EXP.

6

PEDAL MODE

MOMENT, TOGGLE

Selects the operation mode for the pedal switch on the PX-1.

When PEDAL MODE is set to “TOGGLE”, you can long-press the pedal switch to use tap input.

ACTION

OFF Ó ON, ON Ó OFF

Sets how the pedal switch on this unit operates when PEDAL MODE is set to “MOMENT”.
