PS-2

The PS-2 is a complex effect unit that features both a pitch shifter and a digital delay in a compact size.

This lets you freely shift the pitch over a range of ±1 octave. You can also select either “5” or “6” for the MODE parameter to use this unit as an octaver (±1 octave).

When using the unit as a digital delay, you can freely set the delay time from 30 ms all the way up to a maximum of two seconds.

Explanation

1

BALANCE

100:0–100:100–0:100

Adjusts the balance between the direct sound and the effect sound.

When in the center position, the direct and effect sounds are output at a 1:1 ratio.

Turn the knob all the way counterclockwise to hear just the direct sound, and all the way clockwise to hear just the effect sound.

F.BACK

0–100

When in delay mode, this adjusts how many times the delay sound repeats.

Turn the knob all the way counterclockwise for a single delay, and clockwise for more delay repeats.

When in pitch shift mode, turn the knob clockwise to increase the pitch shifting, for more of a unique pitch shift effect.

FINE/MANUAL

(Setting range according to the mode), BPM

For delay mode (1–3), this sets the delay time.

1: 0–100, BPM

2: 0–100, BPM

3: 0–100, BPM

For pitch shift mode (4), this adjusts the amount of pitch shift.

4: -1oct–+1oct

For pitch shift mode (5, 6), this knob has no effect.

5: no effect

6: no effect

  • You can select ņ for the BPM in any mode (the time is set as appropriate, regardless of the mode).
  • When this is set to “BPM”, you can check the tempo by watching the CHECK indicator blink, or by checking the BPM parameter.

MODE

1: DLY125ms,

2: DLY500ms,

3: DLY2S,

4: PS MANUAL,

5: PS+1oct,

6: PS-1oct

Switches the mode.

Delay mode (1–3)

1: Produces a 30–125 ms delay time.

2: Produces a 125–500 ms delay time.

3: Produces a 500 ms–2 sec delay time.

Pitch shift mode (4–6)

4: Shifts the pitch within a range of -1 to +1 octaves.

5: Shifts the pitch +1 octave.

6: Shifts the pitch -1 octave.

BPM

40–250

Adjusts the tempo if “BPM” is selected for FINE/MANUAL.

  • This is only shown when FINE/MANUAL is set to “BPM”.

CARRYOVER

OFF, ON

Specifies whether the effect sound is carried over (ON) or not carried over (OFF) when you turn off the effect.

  • This is only shown when MODE is set to delay mode (1–3).

3

OUTPUT

STEREO, DRY/EFFECT

Specifies the output mode.

STEREO: The direct (dry) sound is mixed with the effect (wet) sound, and output from the OUTPUT A (MONO) and OUTPUT B jacks.

DRY/EFFECT: The effect (wet) sound is output from the OUTPUT A (MONO) jack, and the direct (dry) sound is output from the OUTPUT B jack.

4

CTL1 TARGET

OFF, BALANCE, F.BACK, FINE/MANUAL, TAP

Selects the parameter to control from a footswitch connected to CTL1.

  • Tap operations are disabled when there is an external MIDI input.

CTL1 MODE

MOMENT, TOGGLE

Selects the operation mode for the footswitch that’s connected to CTL1.

  • This is not shown when CTL1 TARGET is set to “TAP”.

CTL1 VALUE

100:0–100:100–0:100, 0–100, BPM

Sets the value for the parameter that’s controlled from a footswitch connected to CTL1.

  • This is not shown when CTL1 TARGET is set to “TAP”.

5

CTL2 TARGET

OFF, BALANCE, F.BACK, FINE/MANUAL, TAP

Selects the parameter to control from a footswitch connected to CTL2.

  • Tap operations are disabled when there is an external MIDI input.

CTL2 MODE

MOMENT, TOGGLE

Selects the operation mode for the footswitch connected to CTL2.

  • This is not shown when CTL2 TARGET is set to “TAP”.

CTL2 VALUE

100:0–100:100–0:100, 0–100, BPM

Selects the value for the parameter that’s controlled from a footswitch connected to CTL2.

  • This is not shown when CTL2 TARGET is set to “TAP”.

6

EXP TARGET

OFF, BALANCE, F.BACK, FINE/MANUAL

Sets the parameter controlled by an expression pedal connected to EXP.

EXP MIN

100:0–100:100–0:100, 0–100, BPM

Sets the minimum value for the parameter controlled by an expression pedal connected to EXP.

EXP MAX

100:0–100:100–0:100, 0–100, BPM

Sets the maximum value for the parameter controlled by an expression pedal connected to EXP.

7

PEDAL MODE

MOMENT, TOGGLE

Selects the operation mode for the pedal switch on the PX-1.

When PEDAL MODE is set to “TOGGLE”, you can long-press the pedal switch to use tap input.

ACTION

OFF Ó ON, ON Ó OFF

Sets how the pedal switch on this unit operates when PEDAL MODE is set to “MOMENT”.
