VB-2

The VB-2 is an effect unit that lets you apply vibrato not only to the sound of electric guitar, but also to instruments for which vibrato couldn’t previously be applied, like electric and digital pianos, along with a host of other electronic musical instruments.

You can freely select between three modes: unlatch (momentary) mode, where vibrato is only applied while the pedal is pressed; latch (toggle) mode, where vibrato is switched on/off with each press of the pedal; and bypass, which passes through the signal when vibrato is not required. Further, you can use rise time to control the time over which the pedal is pressed and the vibrato reaches maximum, for a natural-sounding vibrato effect.

Parameter

Value

Explanation

1

RATE

0–100, BPM

Adjusts the speed of the vibrato.

  • When this is set to “BPM”, you can check the tempo by watching the CHECK indicator blink, or by checking the BPM parameter.

DEPTH

0–100

Adjusts the strength of the vibrato.

RISE TIME

0–100

This parameter adjusts the amount of time it takes for the vibrato to reach maximum once the pedal is pressed.

2

MODE

UNLATCH, BYPASS, LATCH

Switches between the three modes.

UNLATCH: unlatch. Vibrato is applied only while you hold down the pedal. When the vibrato effect is off, the effect becomes DSP bypass. (Simulates the bypass sound that passes through the BBD).

BYPASS: Vibrato is toggled on/off each time you press the pedal. When the vibrato effect is off, the effect becomes analog bypass.

LATCH: latch. Vibrato is toggled on/off each time you press the pedal. When the vibrato effect is off, the effect becomes DSP bypass. (Simulates the bypass sound that passes through the BBD).

BPM

40–250

Adjusts the tempo if “BPM” is selected for RATE.

  • This is only shown when RATE is set to “BPM”.

3

CTL1 TARGET

OFF, RATE, DEPTH, RISE TIME, TAP

Selects the parameter to control from a footswitch connected to CTL1.

CTL1 MODE

MOMENT, TOGGLE

Selects the operation mode for the footswitch that’s connected to CTL1.

CTL1 VALUE

0–100

Sets the value for the parameter that’s controlled from a footswitch connected to CTL1.

4

CTL2 TARGET

OFF, RATE, DEPTH, RISE TIME, TAP

Selects the parameter to control from a footswitch connected to CTL2.

CTL2 MODE

MOMENT, TOGGLE

Selects the operation mode for the footswitch connected to CTL2.

CTL2 VALUE

0–100

Selects the value for the parameter that’s controlled from a footswitch connected to CTL2.

5

EXP TARGET

OFF, RATE, DEPTH, RISE TIME, BPM

Sets the parameter controlled by an expression pedal connected to EXP.

EXP MIN

0–100

Sets the minimum value for the parameter controlled by an expression pedal connected to EXP.

EXP MAX

0–100

Sets the maximum value for the parameter controlled by an expression pedal connected to EXP.

6

PEDAL MODE

MOMENT, TOGGLE

Selects the operation mode for the pedal switch on the PX-1.

ACTION

OFF Ó ON, ON Ó OFF

Sets how the pedal switch on this unit operates when PEDAL MODE is set to “MOMENT”.
