Tone

Explanation

Attack

The attack time of the envelope

This is the time over which the sound reaches its maximum volume after you press the key. Larger values make the attack gentler, and smaller settings make the attack sharper.

Decay

The decay time of the envelope

This is the time over which the volume decreases from its maximum value. Larger settings of this value make the decay longer, and smaller settings make the decay shorter.

Release

The release time of the envelope

This is the time it takes after the key is released for a sound to become inaudible. Larger settings of this value make the sound linger, and smaller settings make the sound end more abruptly.

Filter

Cutoff

The cutoff frequency of the filter

Increasing this value makes the sound brighter, and decreasing it makes the sound darker.

Resonance

The filter resonance

Emphasizes the portion of the sound in the region of the cutoff frequency, adding character to the sound. Excessively high settings can produce oscillation, causing the sound to distort. Increasing this value strengthens the character, and decreasing it weakens the character.

Sets whether to use the part EQ (an equalizer applied to each part) (ON) or not (OFF).

Amount of boost/cut for the mid range

Mid Freq

Center frequency of the mid range

Mid Q

Bandwidth of the mid-frequency range

Higher values make the bandwidth narrower.

Velocity

Parameter

Explanation

Velocity Max

The maximum velocity value available when you play the keyboard

When you lower this value, the volume does not increase too much even when you play the keyboard hard.

This may have no effect, depending on the selected tone.

Velocity Rng Low

Sets the lower/upper limits for the velocities at which tones play. Use this to make different tones sound when you play the keyboard at different strengths.

Explanation

Transpose

Shifts the note numbers that are transmitted from the keyboard to the internal sound engine or external device.

Fine Tune

Finely adjusts the pitch in units of one cent.

Bend Range

Specifies the amount of pitch change in semitone units (maximum two octaves) that occurs when you move a controller such as a wheel, when pitch bend is assigned to that controller. Choose “TONE” if you want to use the setting specified by the tone.

Porta Sw

Specifies whether portamento is applied. Select “ON” to apply portamento, or “OFF” if you don’t want to apply portamento. Choose “TONE” if you want to use the setting specified by the tone.

Vibrato

Explanation

Vib Rate

The vibrato speed (rate at which the pitch is modulated)

The pitch is modulated more rapidly for higher settings, and more slowly with lower settings.

Vib Depth

The depth of the vibrato effect (the depth at which the pitch is modulated)

The pitch is modulated more greatly for higher settings, and less with lower settings.

Vib Delay

The time until vibrato (pitch modulation) starts to apply

Higher settings produce a longer time before vibrato begins, while lower settings produce a shorter time.

Mono/Poly

Mono/Poly

Choose "MONO" if you want to play the SYNTH part monophonically, and choose “POLY” if you want to play polyphonically.
Choose “TONE” if you want to use the setting specified by the tone.

Hold Type

STACK: Holds all sounds for which you’ve released the keys while the Hold pedal is depressed (when CC#64 is greater than or equal to 64).
LEGATO: While the Hold pedal is depressed (when CC#64 is at a value greater than or equal to 64), the sounds for which you’ve released the keys are held until a new key-on (single notes or chords) is input.

Bend Hold Notes

Set this to OFF if you don’t want the pitch bend to be applied to the sound that is being held by the Hold pedal or the like.

Bend Mode

Sets what happens when you move a controller to which pitch bend is assigned, such as the [PITCH] wheel.

NORMAL: This gives the normal pitch bend effect.
CATCH+LAST: The pitch bend effect applies only to the last-played sound (note). If a key is played (note-on) while pitch bend is already applied, the new note sounds at the center pitch. The pitch starts changing only after the controller passes through the center position.

TONE: Uses the Bend Mode setting that’s set for the tone.
