Restricting menu operations (menu lock)

You can restrict menu operations to prevent accidental changes to settings by someone other than the person who set them up.

When menu operation is restricted, a lock symbol appears on the menu icon on the operating panel. If you don’t enter the passcode at this time, the menu screen cannot be shown.

Enabling menu lock

  1. Tap [Ĉ] (settings) to open the menu screen.
  2. Tap “Passcode”.
  3. Tap “Turn Passcode on”.
  4. Enter a four-digit passcode.
  5. To enable the passcode, enter the same passcode again when prompted.

Changing the passcode

  1. Tap [Ĉ] (settings) to open the menu screen.
  2. Tap “Passcode”.
  3. Tap “Change Passcode”.
  4. Enter a four-digit passcode to set a new passcode.
  5. To change the setting, enter the same passcode again when prompted.

  1. Tap [Ĉ] (settings) to open the menu screen.
  2. Tap “Passcode”.
  3. Tap “Turn Passcode off”.

Editing the lock alert message

You can edit the message that is displayed when the menu icon on the operating panel is pressed while the menu is locked.

Use this to show emergency contact information and how to handle problems that might arise.

Example:

  1. Tap [Ĉ] (settings) to open the menu screen.
  2. Tap “Passcode”.
  3. Tap “Alert Message” and enter your text.
