Selecting the instruments

  1. Press the [KIT EDIT] button.
  2. Use the cursor buttons to select “INSTRUMENT A–C”, and press the [ENTER] button. The INSTRUMENT screen appears.
  3. Select the pad to configure.

  5. Press the cursor buttons to move the cursor to the instrument.
  6. Use the dial to select an instrument.
  7. * If the layer switch for the instrument you want to play is off, turn the layer switch on.

    1. You can also press the [ENTER] button to select an instrument from the list.
    2. You can layer two instruments together, or switch between them according to how hard you play.

    5. For the instruments that can be selected, refer to “Data List” (Roland website).
    6. By pressing the F4 (EXP INFO) button while holding down the [SHIFT] button, you can check whether the instruments in the Instrument Expansion/Kit Pack are being used.
  10. Press the [KIT] button to return to the KIT screen.

 

Selecting an instrument for each area you strike ([F6] (H&R) button)

You can use the [F6] (H&R) button to choose whether instruments for areas such as the head and rim are selected together as a set (ON) or independently (OFF).

ON

Instruments for areas such as the head and rim are selected as a set.

The recommended instruments that are appropriate for the selected instrument are selected as a set.

  • If the same parameter exists within the instruments that are selected as a set, it is automatically set to the same value.
  • Depending on the instrument, the same instrument might be selected for all areas such as the head and rim.

OFF

Instruments are selected individually for each area you strike, such as the head and rim.
