You can use your smartphone (running either Android or iOS) as a satellite camera and send the video captured by that device to the GO:PODCAST app.

The satellite camera video that’s used for streaming is added to either “CAM 1” or “CAM 2” of the scene palette.

  • The smartphone to be used as a camera must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

  1. You must install the Roland Satellite Camera app beforehand on the smartphone that you want to use as a satellite camera.

    The Roland Satellite Camera app can be downloaded from the Roland website.

  2. Launch the Roland Satellite Camera app on the smartphone to be used as a satellite camera.

  3. Launch the GO:PODCAST app on the smartphone to be used for streaming.

  4. On the scene palette, tap the “add scene” button (+ icon).

    The “Scene Select” screen appears.

  5. Tap either “CAM 1” or “CAM 2”.

    The video sources that can be added to the scene are shown.

    At this time, the satellite camera (smartphone) connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the smartphone that’s used for streaming is shown.

    If multiple satellite cameras are connected, all satellite cameras (smartphones) are shown.

  6. Tap the satellite camera (smartphone) to add to the scene (“CAM 1” or “CAM 2”).

    This adds the satellite camera (smartphone) to the scene.

    The combinations of cameras you can add to the CAM 1 and CAM 2 scenes are shown below.

    (*) Combining the use of the front and rear cameras on a single smartphone is only possible with the iOS app.

  • You can adjust the zoom, brightness and other settings for the camera video.
    For details, refer to “Adjusting video from the camera”.
  • The mic audio that’s input from the satellite cameras can be streamed to (shared with) the GO:PODCAST app.
    You can adjust these audio signals from the audio mixer screen on the main screen.
  • You may not be able to stream (share) audio from a smartphone being used as a satellite camera to the GO:PODCAST app, depending on the smartphone model and OS version.
